About the Rating and Coins

Authors of posts and comments earn reputation points based on how useful their content is to other users. Reputation is calculated based on user ratings of a post or comment using the following formulas.

Regular post

✅ 1 like = +1 reputation point

Rated post (crossword, puzzle, or quiz with the corresponding label)

✅ 1 like = +2 reputation points

Comment

✅ 2 likes = +1 reputation point

Dislikes work the same way, but in reverse, deducting points from the author’s rating.

Users earn coins and a rating for solving crossword puzzles, quizzes, and brain teasers according to the following formulas (where all values are integers rounded down):

Crossword Puzzle

✅ Solving 1 word = +1 coin💲

✅ Solving 10 words = +1 rating point ⭐

✅ Solving the entire crossword puzzle = (N + number of words / 10) rating points ⭐ (N = 1 for a mini crossword, N = 3 for a medium crossword, N = 5 for a large crossword)

❌ Hint for 1 word = -5 coins💲

Quiz

✅ Answering 1 test question correctly = +1 coin💲

✅ Answering 5 test questions correctly = +1 rating point ⭐

✅ Completing the test without any mistakes = (1 + number of questions / 5) rating points ⭐

❌ Retaking the test = -1 × number of incorrect answers coins💲 (taking into account funds previously spent on retakes).

Puzzle

✅ Solving 1 problem or question = +5 coins💲

✅ Solving 2 questions = +1 rating point ⭐

✅ Solving the entire puzzle = (N + number of questions / 2) rating points ⭐ (N = 1 for an easy puzzle, N = 3 for a medium-difficulty puzzle, and N = 5 for a hard puzzle)

❌ Receiving 1 hint = 0 to -5 coins💲 (at the puzzle creator’s discretion)

❌ Receiving the answer = -20 coins💲

The formulas listed above may differ from the calculated values, especially regarding coins💲, since the final value depends on the type of puzzle/scrabble/test. The ranking points and coins available as rewards for solving a puzzle are specified within each individual post.
