The Problem About Five Houses

This problem is also known as Einstein's problem.

There are 5 houses on a street, each painted a different color. Each house is home to a citizen from a different country. Each of them drinks their own beverage, smokes their own cigarettes, and has their own pet.

Determine which of them keeps fish, and also determine who lives where, what they drink, etc., given the following information.

1. The British man lives in the red house.

2. The Swede has a dog.

3. The Dane drinks tea.

4. The green house is to the left of white house and right next to it.

5. The owner of the green house is drinking coffee.

6. The person who smokes Pall-Mall has birds.

7. The owner of the yellow house smokes Dunhills.

8. The owner of the middle house is drinking milk.

9. The Norwegian lives in the first house.

10. The person who smokes Blends lives next to the cat owner.

11. The person who keeps horses lives next to the person who smokes Dunhills.

12. The person who smokes Blue Master drinks beer.

13. The German smokes Prince.

14. A Norwegian lives next to the blue house.

15. The person who smokes Blends has a neighbor who drinks water.
